Before you come in
How far in advance should I book wedding dress alterations?
Book your first bridal fitting two to three months before the wedding date. Bridal alterations usually need two or three fittings, and beading, lace or structural changes take longer than a simple hem.
Do I need an appointment for a fitting?
Appointments are recommended so a fitting room and a tailor are reserved for you. Call (860) 313-0234 to arrange a time during opening hours.
What should I bring to my fitting?
Bring the shoes and undergarments you plan to wear with the garment. Hem length and fit both change with heel height, so fitting without them means guessing.
Can a suit be altered to fit properly across the shoulders?
Yes. Shoulder adjustment is one of the most demanding alterations because the sleeve head must be reset, but it is what makes a jacket look genuinely made for you rather than merely purchased.
Do you repair or restyle garments you did not make?
Yes. Mending, restyling, resizing and reproduction of a favourite garment are all part of the work, including pieces bought elsewhere or inherited.
